The Game of soccer is a long held tradition for the Hoggan family. It all began in the 1920's and 30's in Scotland where grandfather Matthew Hoggan played on the Scottish National team, professionally with Raith Rovers, and concluded his career with New Brighton.

Hoggy, born David Matthew Hoggan, in honor of his grandfather, began playing soccer at the advanced age of six on a U10 team. As a youth player from U11 thru U16, Hoggy played in the Scottish final six times, winning four titles. He was a member of Scotland International teams at U21 and U23. Played in the LE Havre French International Tournament where they defeated Benfica Portugal for the title. Played Scotland vs England At Old Trafford, May 4th 1981.

Hoggy's professional career began with Bolton Wanderers, England. Bolton Debut: 12th April 1980 versus Bristol City, Division one. Played six years as a regular with Bolton Wanderers. MISL nine Seasons with several teams, collected 336 Points, five Seasons with Seattle Sounders, and twice winning the A-League Championships 1995-96 with Seattle. In 2001 he coached professionally for The Seattle Sounders as an assistant coach.

Hoggy has a USSF B License and brings an invaluable lifetime of experience to coaching youth soccer. His resume includes coaching in six Washington State Championships winning three Washington State titles, Surf Cup Champion, two Surf Cup Finalists, ODP WA All Star team U18/19 for Germany Tour 2007. In Rieneck Germany 2007 his team had four wins two ties and one loss against Eintracht Frankfurt, Nuremburg FC, Borussia Monchengladbach, Bratislava Prague and OFC Kickers.
