03.05.10 Tynecastle Academy Joins Puget Sound Premier Development League
This year Tynecastle begins a new academy program.  Academy director Lyndon Clement will be responsible for this US Club sanctioned player development program.
Tynecastle places 4 teams in the PSPL:

Please contact tifc_academy@live.com for additional information and opportunities to play in the inaugural PSPL spring development league at Starfire Complex utilizing the new Modified Fields adjacent to the Seattle Sounders practice fields.  Space is still available for aspiring young soccer players (born after July 31, 1999), play begins March 13 through May 16, 2010.

08.24.09 Tynecastle 96B - Chinook Cup ChampionsBU96 Chinook Cup Champions
The boys traveled down to Oregon this past weekend and brought back a tournament trophy.  Team finished second in group play, advanced to the Semifinals against WPFC White.  Coach Clem stated the boys played brilliantly against WPFC, dominating possession and controlling the game, with a 2-0 win.  In the finals the boys were matched up against the team they faced in their first match of the tournament, where they were handed their first loss.  The finals was to be a different story.  It took Tynecastle an overtime to eventually go ahead and capture the championship, beating MVSC Albany Rapids 3-2.  Congratulations to Coach Clem and the team.

08.21.09 Tynecastle 91B - Finalists Bigfoot Tournament
Tynecastle 91B FinalistsU18 Boys were finalists in Snohomish, going to PK against Bainbridge FC (5-6).  Team finished play tied at 0-0. The team connected on their first 5 kicks from the mark before missing.  Congratulations.

07.27.09 Girls 95 win Crossfire Select TournamentG95 crossfire challenge
The girls playing in temperatures near 100 on the field dominated in OT play in the finals to beat Sun City Strikers 3-1.  The girls showed their fitness and were up for the challenge, having played earlier in the day. The girls dominated play during the tournament, outscoring their opponents 14-4 with 2 shutouts.  The championship marks the first for Tynecastle, congratulations girls!

07.27.09 Tynecastle players help Elderly in Shorelineshoreline house
Around 30 Tynecastle players and their coaches came to the aid of a widow in Shoreline, where they spent the day landscaping, painting, and demolition of a kitchen and bathroom.  This effort was very appreciated by the homeowner, a recent widow and accident survivor with limited mobility.  Tynecastle board appreciates the “team building” efforts of the players, and thanks everyone for the tremendous care of someone in the local community. The efforts were also covered by The Enterprise.

07.11.09 - Tynecastle 93G - Nike Crossfire Challenge
crossfire challengeThe Girls started fast in the Crossfire Challenge today with a 2-0 win over Emerald City FC.  Both goals scored came at the end of the first and second halves, were taken very well by Tash. The defense did well closing down any real challenges by ECFC.  Come support the girls on as they play in a very difficult bracket against Crossfire and Columbia Timbers. The girls finished 2nd in group play with a record of 1-1-1.  Losing to Crossfire, the eventual tournament champions.  Girls played well without a GK, having to rotate field players in and out.

07.08.09 - Tynecastle 93B - Super Group Finalists at US Club Soccer Regional's  polish

93B advanced with an undefeated record to the finals against Emerald City this past weekend at the tournament in Burlington.  Playing before a large Tynecastle crowd, boys went toe to toe in an entertaining final.  The first 80 minutes resulted in a 0-0 tie.  The 2 overtime sessions also netted a 0-0 tie, taking the game to PK's.  GK Andrew was up for the challenge stopping Emerald City first 2 attempts, but Tynecastle did not capitalize on the advantage resulting in ECFC winning on the 5th PK, 3-2.  Next stop for the boys, Nike Crossfire Challenge.  Photo credits; Laura Wildfong.

06.22.09 - Casino Road Futbol Academy
U16 boys and girls, along Tynecastle staff are volunteer coaches this week for the soccer academy at Walter Hall Park.  The soccer camp is a long time vision of Manny Garcia an Everett Police Officer.  A former professional player in Mexico, Manny wishes to bring the love of soccer to the south Everett area.  The Casino Road camp is open to all kids 8 to 15 years old, and concludes this Friday, June 26. 2009 Sounders FC - Tynecastle FC - Sept 19th 12:00pm
Reserve tickets for Tynecastle Family night at Quest Field, to watch Seattle Sounders FC vs Chivas USA.  Tynecastle teams will be recognized on main scoreboard.  Reservations are on a first come first serve basis.  Please email, noting your name and quantity of tickets that you are requesting.  Tickets will also be available at the May 18th, Club Meeting.

05.05.2009 - Paul Barron - Goalkeeper training session
Paul Barron is Newcastle United goalkeeping coach, has trained Seattle Sounder Kasey Keller and Reading FC Marcus Hanneman.  Paul will host a training session at Kasch Park, where all Tynecastle GK are invited.  Email for registration details (registration required).

05.04.2009 - Nike Sponsored Tyne Academy (US Club Soccer)
The program is developed by Tynecastle Technical Director, John Hannan, USSF A license and US National team scout.  Boys and girls born after 8/1/1999 (U9/U10) are eligible to participate.  The Tyne Academy session runs thru June 14th.  Total costs for uniform, training sessions, registration and league play is $35.  Development games are hosted at Starfire Sports Complex new modified fields.

05.03.2009 Tynecastle welcomes Girls coach Meghan Miller
Meghan joins Tynecastle this year, bringing with her incredible soccer credentials as well as an accomplished academic record.  As a Goalkeeper for University of Kansas, won the Big 12 Championship.  Nominated 2004 by Adidas, NSCAA All-American.

Colorado Showcase
Boys have been accepted to participate in the prestigious 2009 Colorado Showcase, a premier ODP showcase played at Dicks Sporting Goods Park, home of the Colorado Rapids.

Tynecastle Girls U10's scored a 1-0 win in their first Development Match (PSPL) at Starfire today.  The girls controlled the game with excellent passing and communication.  U10 matches are played 9-aside and are featured at Starfire new mod fields complex, adjacent to the Seattle Sounders FC training facility.

Girls have been accepted to the Colorado Real tournament, a premier college showcase tournament, played in mile high Denver.  Players in attendance will be able to see our own Seattle Sounders FC play the Colorado Rapids on May 23rd, 7:30pm.  Hoggy and Allen will be training the team for the showcase tournament that begins May 22nd.  Girls who are interested in joining the team in Colorado please contact Allen for details.

03.11.2009 - 100k Team Fundraiser Walk
This Saturday 3.14.09, Julie and Theresa will begin their walk around 4:00am.  Both have been training very hard for the past several months. All the donations are for team activities, as this is only a team fundraising event.

An excellent tryout.  Thanks to all the volunteers and Tammi/Kasch Park, for taking care of all the details.  On behalf of the coaching staff, we want to welcome all the new faces to Tynecastle.

Tynecastle 93 boys teams are among the best in the WA State.  This past year the teams took on all comers, playing ODP teams from Cal North, USSDA teams, Oregon and WA State Champions (Westside, WPFC).  2009 will bring an equally strong tournament schedule to showcase players for college.

03.04.2009 - Team Fundraising 100k (24 hr Walk)
Show support for Theresa and Julie as they continue to train for 100k (62 miles) walk in 24 hours.  The walk demonstrates the "never give up" attitude of players, parents, and coaches that are the culture of Tynecastle.

3.03.2009 - Super Y ODP National Camp John Hannan, Tynecastle Youth Director, spent the past 2 weeks at National ODP Camp in Tampa Florida.  The camp allows players to showcase their potential for recommendation to the US National teams.
