Tynecastle Goalkeeping Academy
Goalkeeping Director Ray Kent has produced numerous top goalkeepers over the past 20 years coaching. Developing kids who passionately want to play in the net is what Ray is about. Some of his former keepers have played overseas in France, Japan, MLS and with USL 3rd Division PDL. Most recently one of Ray's keepers participated with the US U18 National Team.
As director of GK Academy with Tynecastle FC, Ray focuses on strength, conditioning, agility with balance and coordination. GK Academy is a year round weekly program that is at no additional costs to Tynecastle goalkeepers.
Additional trainer is Alex Keough, former GK with UC Riverside, NCAA Division 1 also trains Tynecastle GK. Alex a local goalkeeper played WYS ODP 3 years and attended Region IV camp. 4 year Varsity at Shorewood High School. BA in political science from UC Riverside. Currently attending graduate school at Seattle University.
As part of player development, Ray attends numerous matches at Tynecastle FC. Viewing GK in game situations helps providing additional development with regards to decision making and communication with defenders.
Raymond is also the director of DynaSports USA. The player development program is a compilation of the experience Ray brings training numerous athletics at NW Nationals, Emerald City FC, Shorecrest HS, Shorewood HS and WYS ODP programs.
Former WYS state champion, Seattle Times "Star Times GK 2008", Surf Cup MVP 2007, Andrew McDonald; "Ray picked me to be a GK when I was U13, from then on I have dedicated myself to playing professionally." Andrew has been in Japan for the past year training with former J1 professionals as part of the J-League.
